Be a Sheep

I've noticed while looking at the stats for my blog that I've had people from Canada, Germany, Singapore, India & Indonesia taking a peek at some of my posts. I'm so excited that my silly little blog reaches that far out! I can rest easy knowing that even if I never make it to see some of those places, my blog has!

Most of us have been told our whole lives not to be sheep. Don't conform. Be a leader, not a follower. Make your own path in life.

Well, now I am telling you...be a sheep!

Click, 'Join this site' right over there -->
and become a follower of my blog!

Part of the reason I started blogging was so I could interact with others about things that I love to do. Don't be shy!  Leave me comments, feedback, opinions, whatever!

As a mom of three, I make sacrifices a lot to be able to provide my girls with things that they need and occasionally a want or two. I haven't been clothes shopping for myself in what seems like forever. My wardrobe is looking pretty worn out.  I have bought a few pieces here and there. Having been pregnant twice over the past 3 years has made it even harder for me to purchase clothes. My body has changed so much that nothing fits me the same as it used to. I actually weigh the same now as I did back in high school. After pregnancy, your weight is literally just a number. It doesn't matter how little or how much you weigh. If you don't tone your body, it's always going to feel like fat. That's my experience, at least.

I'm getting to a point for this post, I promise.

Like many people, I am addicted to Pinterest. That crazy website where people 'pin' anything they find. Recipes, sewing patterns, tutorials, home decor, funny signs....really, anything. One of my favorite things to look at is the collection of different styles of clothing. I have a board named, "I wish I dressed like this..."  Yes, if I had a never-ending clothing budget, I would definitely dress in the outfits I have pinned. I want to share a few examples with you, my dozen subscribers, who I am more than thrilled to have to share these pointless ramblings with.

Please, feel free to peruse my Pinterest boards. There is a button over there ---> for you to click on so you can follow me.

Grey+Black+Silver=<3<3Love this color!<3

I want to go somewhere to have an excuse to wear this dress:

So much love for this dress!!!

Or this one:

50s style cocktail dress.. absolutely adore this!

I think it's time to start budgeting for new clothes for mommy & daddy instead of spending it all on the kiddos. We deserve nice, new things sometimes too, right?

Super Kiddos!

Super heroes are awesome!
Every child, at some point in their life pretends to be a super hero.
They find whatever they can to tie around their necks to be a cape and run around with their hands out like they're flying.
We used pillowcases, sheets, blankets...whatever we could pretend would be a cape. Of course this was back when kids still played pretend for fun.

I made my niece and nephew reversible super hero capes for Christmas and they were a big hit! I didn't use a pattern. I just kind of made it up in my head as I went. They came out great! They were so quick and simple, but they look professionally made.

If anyone would like to see a tutorial, leave me comments. I haven't made my girls capes yet, so I know I'll be making them sometime in the near future.

Unfortunately I didn't get pictures of both sides of my niece's cape, but here is my nephew's cape:

The reverse side of my niece's cape is purple with a pink star.
They loved their capes!
My nephew ran around the house all night yelling, "Super Mason!"

The coolest valentines in the class!

 Big A's Valentines!

I have seen these valentines all over Pinterest and I just had to do it with Big A this year! I took the photo of her and uploaded it to photobucket so I could edit it and add the little extras.
(I blocked out her last name for the blog. It isn't really off-center as it appears to be).

She thinks these are the coolest valentines ever. I have to agree. The valentines they make for kids now are dumb. I like unique things. She is excited about handing these out to her friends!

(Excuse the glare from my camera flash)

Cheddar & Herb Biscuits *Think Red Lobster*

I tried yet another new recipe tonight. Three, actually.

First, I made bacon & cheddar chicken using the crock pot. Unfortunately I did not get a picture of my chicken, but I got the recipe  here. I definitely recommend trying it out!

Second, I made oven roasted parmesan asparagus. I just coated some asparagus with olive oil, then with parmesan cheese and a little bit of garlic. I put them on a cookie sheet and baked them at 425 degrees for 12 minutes. The girls weren't too fond of it, but I didn't really expect them to be. D and I both liked it. He had never had asparagus before, so I think it was a success!

Third, I made cheddar and herb biscuits.

These little suckers taste just like the biscuits at Red Lobster!

I ate entirely too many of these tonight. The recipe I used made about 32 of these little suckers. There are still some on the table in the kitchen. The only thing keeping me from eating more right now is the fact that I'm still too full to move my butt from the couch.
Anyway, here is the recipe for these little balls of deliciousness.

Here are some pictures of my munchkins eating their corn on the cob.

Distraction and Fajitas

Today, I got absolutely nothing done. No, I take that back. I went out to pick up a package, then I came home and got nothing done. I'm really great at that....getting nothing done. Of course, then there are the days when it seems like I do everything, but I feel like I accomplish nothing.
I made a daily schedule for myself to follow, but not an hourly. I think I seriously need to micromanage myself to the hour so I stay on task.
I get distracted so easily.....

Since I have nothing interesting, witty, or fun to blog about tonight, I'm just
going to blog about food again. Seriously, who doesn't love good food? You can't go wrong with that! As a matter of fact, I'm trying out a new recipe tomorrow as well, so you'll be reading about it tomorrow night. Woohoo!

Fajitas are one of my favorite things to eat. I always order steak when we eat out, but I make chicken at home. Fajitas are very easy to make. You cook chicken in a skillet, add some fajita seasoning (you can buy it in a packet at the grocery store), then add some thinly sliced peppers and onions. Continue cooking until the peppers and onions are soft, and they're finished.

Tonight, I decided to make homemade tortillas. They were so simple to make, and I always have the ingredients on hand. Plus, one batch made more than enough for dinner. I used this recipe to make them. It was very easy to follow and the tortillas were delish!

Now for pictures of our yummy dinner!

Here are my homemade tortillas:

This is one of my favorite 'food' smells. I love love love the smell of onions and peppers while they are cooking. If you don't like that smell, there's something seriously wrong with you. Seriously. I mean it.

This is our chicken fajita filling! Yum!!!
